About

Awards

We have a wonderful team at Slough Foodbank and it's wonderful to receive external recognition through awards.

March 2021 Slough Foodbank was nominated for a High Sheriff Award.

The High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire wrote to us and said:

Throughout the last very difficult year Berkshire residents and organisations have stepped up to support their communities in incredible, life changing ways. These have included both the big groups who had fed and cared for literally hundreds of vulnerable people through to the individuals who have quietly and diligently supported their neighbours throughout. I feel so proud to be part of a county that has done so much to make our most vulnerable and isolated members feel so cared for and valued.

I am delighted to present you with the enclosed certificate in recognition of the wonderful contribution you have made to the Berkshire wide effort.

Slough Foodbank is extremely grateful for this recognition.

The Fund is created from money recovered by the police and the proceeds from the sale of items that cannot be returned to identified owners, which includes seizures from criminals and is distributed twice a year.

Each funding round involves a grant application form where applicants are required to evidence how they help to achieve a specific objective of the Police Crime Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan, previous rounds have included ‘reducing reoffending’ and ‘protecting vulnerable people’.
