Ride For Food 2018

24th July 2018

Ride for Food 2018
Event Timing: Sunday 16th September, 12.45pm start
Event Location: Start & finish point is pedestrian area outside Slough cinema by Queensmere centre. Postcode SL1 1DD.

Event Cost: The cost of entry to the event is as stated on the entry form, £25 for individuals or £50 for families, though we are happy to waive this if you can commit to raising at least that amount in sponsorship support. This includes a T-shirt for each rider and a donation to Slough Foodbank. If you can recycle last year’s T-shirts that’s great and entry cost reduces to £10 (individual), £20 (family).

Fundraising: Riders are encouraged to set up a sponsorship page online to fundraise at http://www.btplc.com/mydonate/ linked to “Slough Foodbank” charity and the organised event “Ride for Food 2017” or use the attached sponsor form. Event link is https://mydonate.bt.com/events/rff2018/471720

Route: The ride is 24 miles long with approx 19 miles off main roads on a mixture of park roads, cycle paths and tracks (mountain bike tyres not essential but slick tyres not recommended!) and around 5 miles on roads. The route includes Slough centre, Windsor Great Park, Windsor, Eton, Jubilee River & Dorney. Route maps will be provided on the day of the ride and navigation will be the responsibility of each rider.

Rest/Refreshment: The ride is not a race so riders should feel free to stop whenever they need a break. However, a lunch stop is planned in Windsor Great Park (after 9 miles) so bring a packed lunch and an ice-cream/drink stop is planned at Dorney Garden Centre (bring some money).

Safety: Each rider must wear a cycling helmet at all times and abide by the Highway Code, showing respect to other road users. Traffic lights and signs must be observed as no roads will be closed for the ride.

Weather: The ride will take place regardless of bad weather.
Further Information: Will be emailed to riders shortly before the ride but if you have any questions, please contact Toby McKeever on 07738 028508 or at [email protected]
