Slough Foodbank Shares Insight with Mars Team — and Inspires 2026 Volunteer Partnership

30th November 2025

Last week, Slough Foodbank Manager Gail Pinkerton-Field had the privilege of presenting to a group of 65 Business Development Managers at Mars to discuss food poverty across the UK and here in Slough.

It was a powerful session, and the room was moved by some of the realities we see every day — including the fact that one-third of the people who turn to Slough Foodbank are in working poverty.

Following the session, Gail received a message that truly meant a great deal:

“Thank you so much for coming in on Wednesday. You presented so well and left the room having made a real impact. Thank you again and we as a team (13) have already committed to support Slough Foodbank as part of our 2026 Mars Volunteering Program”

We are incredibly grateful for their commitment. Partnerships like this help us keep pace with rising need, support local families, and build a stronger safety net for those in crisis.

If your organisation would like to learn more about food poverty, we are always happy to present, host groups at our warehouse, or welcome volunteer teams. Every conversation helps raise awareness — and every partnership strengthens our ability to serve our community.
