About Slough Foodbank

The object of Slough Foodbank is the prevention or relief of poverty in the United Kingdom, mainly in Slough and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by providing emergency food supplies to individuals in need, as motivated by the principles of the Christian Faith.

Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days worth of nutritionally balanced, emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Last year we had 3,517 referrals which provided 7,365 emergency food parcels, sadly we have seen a 54% increase in the past two years. In addition to providing food and basic toiletries, we try, by means of signposting and monitoring and discussions with the supporting referrer to give a helping hand through a crisis.

We’re seeking someone who is called to lead through great teamwork, keeping our primary focus at the heart of all we do. Serving our clients well and fostering an environment of ‘can do’ and care. Our reach is culturally diverse and you’ll work with people who have varied experiences. You will have an eye for detail and be keen to see improvement across all areas of our work whilst recognising and embracing that the Foodbank is run by a small team of employees and 5 key volunteer roles which are supported by around 100 volunteers.
