We want to thank our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly – week- in, week-out – to help alleviate food poverty in Slough and the surrounding areas. Last year, together we provided 9,322 food parcels which contained 3-days of nutritious food, basic toiletries and everyday essentials.
The provision of one food parcel happens because of a huge team of volunteers working across so many different areas including:
- Drivers picking up food donations in supermarkets
- Warehouse volunteers sorting food by date and type
- Packing volunteers who package food parcels into different sizes from singles to large families
- Drivers delivering food parcels to our distribution centres and home deliveries
- Our distribution centre co-ordinators and volunteers who welcome clients, chat to them to see how they need help and provide them with food and basic essentials
- Admin volunteers who support Slough Foodbank operations from behind the scenes
