FIGURES FOR THE NUMBER OF FOOD PARCELS PROVIDED BY SLOUGH FOODBANK DURING 1 – 31 JULY 2023, COMPARED WITH THE SAME PERIOD IN 2022
Total number of food parcels: 848, an increase of 48%
Number of adults: 541, an increase of 45%
Number of children: 307, an increase of 54%
Sad to see such a big increase on July last year. We need the government to make changes that last. We continue to call on the UK government for an ‘Essentials Guarantee’ to make sure that the basic rate of Universal Credit is at least enough to afford the essentials we all need, such as food, household bills and travel costs.
