FIGURES FOR THE NUMBER OF FOOD PARCELS PROVIDED BY SLOUGH FOODBANK DURING 1 – 30 NOVEMBER 2024, COMPARED WITH THE SAME PERIOD IN NOVEMBER 2023
Total number of food parcels: 883, a 12% decrease
Number of adults: 533, a 17% decrease
Number of children: 350, a 5% decrease
The total number of parcels provided during November is 12% fewer when compared to the November last year. However it’s difficult to say if there has been an actual drop in hunger and hardship this month. The need for emergency food is still persistently high, and the number of parcels given out in September and October were both at a 26% increase. What we do know is that it is 883 food parcels too many, with people in Slough and the surrounding community continuing to face hunger and hardship which is heartbreaking.
